About Briarcliff Marina

Briarcliff Marina has been a part of the Lake Travis community since 1969. Since 2005, the marina has been proudly owned and operated by Thomas and Diana Maione, longtime residents of the Village of Briarcliff, where they have lived since 1995.

Boating has always been a big part of their lives. In fact, Thomas was once a stunt water skier and still feels most at home on the water. As a successful entrepreneur, he has built multiple thriving businesses by focusing on innovation and customer service. Before utilizing PCs in business became mainstream in the 1990’s, the Maione’s owned a computer and networking business.  In 1999 they built the now famous Blazer Tag Adventure Center in South Austin. Bringing together their love of fun, Lake Travis, water sports and business, owning Briarcliff Marina was a natural fit.    

As active members of the Briarcliff community, Thomas and Diana have worked to make the marina an even greater asset to local residents and visitors. Under their ownership, Briarcliff Marina has seen many improvements and upgrades designed to enhance the boating experience and support the local economy.

Improvements Since 2005

• Replaced the original 1969 Ship Store with a larger, modern facility
• Installed covered boat slips to replace older uncovered slips
• Upgraded flotation by replacing open foam blocks with encapsulated foam
• Removed old docks and sunken debris throughout Cat Hollow Cove
• Extended the boat ramp to allow use during lower lake levels
• Added boat rentals for the local community and visitors
• Installed a tenant-only restroom and shower facility
• Expanded Ship Store hours to seven days a week
• 2015 purchased the vacant restaurant located above the marina. In 2018 partnered with Robin Martinez to create The Lighthouse Restaurant & Lounge
• 2026 received permits to build 12 lakefront condominiums located adjacent to the marina and restaurant. People who live in or visit the Cliffside on Lake Travis residences will be steps from the marina and restaurant

Today, Briarcliff Marina continues to operate as a locally owned, customer-focused marina dedicated to helping people enjoy Lake Travis.
